Business Angels Netzwerk Deutschland e.V. (BAND) is committed to enhance the business angels culture in Germany, organizes the exchange of experiences and promotes cooperation. As an umbrella organization of the informal venture capital market BAND is spokesman for the business angel networks towards politicians and the public, and represents the concerns of business angels in the interest of young innovative companies.

BAND supports the process of merging capital seeking companies and business angels by preselecting and forwarding the company profiles (BAND One Pager) to the individual networks. As a service for business Angels, young companies, business angels networks and for the continued professionalisation of the business angels market BAND offers practical help (BAND Best Practice), organizes training units (BAND academy) and promotes the exchange of experts (BAND expert forum). To ensure the transparency of the business angels market BAND is responsible for surveys of stakeholders in the business angels market, BAND Brain & Memory is the collection point for everything researched in the field of Business Angels.

BAND also organizes events like the annual “German Business Angels Day”, the nationwide biggest convention of the informal venture capital market, and meetings to exchange experiences among managers of business angels’ networks.

BAND is eager to spread the idea of business angels and is committed to improve the environment for business angels’ investments. This year BAND has announced the “Business Angels Year 2010″ in cooperation with the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology. The aim of the “Business Angels Year 2010″ is to inspire more people to the idea of business angels and to create more public awareness for this topic.
