Description

Development has a (new) name

With effect from March 31, 2004, Landesbank NRW has become NRW.BANK. While the bank has been given a new name, a new legal foundation and a new structure in many respects, it remains what it has effectively always been – the development bank for North Rhine-Westphalia.

The framework in which we operate

North Rhine-Westphalia is Germany’s largest federal state and one of the world’s top 15 economies, which testifies to the complexity of its international relationships, processes and problems. For many years, economic policy has supported and shaped the state’s necessary structural transformation into a modern service economy and knowledge society. The media sector, in particular, has created numerous new jobs in the region. At the same time, it is important to secure jobs and exploit growth opportunities in the “old” industries.

Supporting this development is our task.

Our objectives Reorganisations such as ours make special demands. A new structure needs to be found, new forms need to be defined and a new profile needs to be developed. This requires a great effort but it also opens up scope for new approaches and a shared will to achieve and create.
