Pierre Francois Marteau is Vice President and member of the management team of Schibsted Classified Media (SCM), the largest publisher of online classified advertising in Europe and 2nd largest worldwide. SCM is a division of Schibsted ASA, a Scandinavian media company which was often credited of being the most daring and the most successful at migrating from its original newspaper publishing business into online publishing business models.

Pierre-Francois joined Schibsted in 2001 to lead the launch of the free daily newspaper “20 Minutes” in France, where he assumed the functions of COO and CFO. 20 Minutes quickly became (and still is) the most read daily newspaper in France, with 2.8 million daily readers. In 2006, when the classified division was established, he joined the management team and took direct responsibility for classified operations in France and Italy. He is now in charge of various international development projects as well as of SCM’s mobile strategy.

Pierre-Francois holds a masters degree in engineering from ENST Paris, an MBA from INSEAD, and was a consultant at McKinsey & Co in Paris and Cologne between 1991 and 2000. He has been living in Cologne with his family since 1994.
