Prof. Dr. Stefan Wrobel, M.S., is director of the Fraunhofer Institute for Intelligent Analysis and Information Systems (IAIS) and Professor of Computer Science at University of Bonn. He studied Computer Science in Bonn and Atlanta, GA, USA (M.S. degree, Georgia Institute of Technology), receiving his doctorate from University of Dortmund. After positions in Berlin and Sankt Augustin, he became Professor of Computer Science at University of Magdeburg, then moving to his current position into 2002. Professor Wrobel has published extensively on subjects in the area of Data Mining and Machine Learning and is on the Editorial Board of several journals in the field. Prof. Wrobel is a founding member of the International Machine Learning Society and an elected member of its board. He is speaker of the German Computer Society’s special interest group on Knowledge Discovery and Machine Learning.
